Welcome to a new episode of the Roman Gabriel Show. It's a
throwback edition, I'll take you back to 1995 and a conversation
with NFL Legendary Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver Jack Snow. He was
the favorite target of Quarterback Roman Gabriel, and one of my
favorite Rams. My childhood rowing up always around the team, I
remember attending many Rams youth football camps. Instead of going
with my dad to be a quarterback, I followed Jack because I always
admired his being on the end of the long bomb, leaping and diving
to make the great catch. I wanted to be him ! He produced many
great memories at the Coliseum thrilling Rams fans everywhere !
Snow was Drafted # 1 from Notre Dame, he enjoyed an illustrious
career exclusively with the Rams from 1965-1975. In 1967, his
breakout year averaging a career-high 26.3 yards per reception and
scored eight touchdowns on his 28 receptions. He was named to the
NFL Pro Bowl. Snow gained a reputation for catching the long ball
from quarterback Roman Gabriel. He had a reputation of never being
caught from behind, and willing to venture over the middle to make
the tough physical catches. He possessed sure hands, and always
came to play in the big games. He finished his professional career
with 340 receptions and 45 touchdowns; his 6012 career receiving
yards ranked 30th in NFL history.
After his playing career , he became the Rams Wide Receiver Coach
in 1992, he went on to make a name for himself as the Rams Color
analyst in LA all the way to St Louis. We lost Jack in 2005 when he
developed a staph infection and died at age 62 as a result of
complications. Come back with me to 1995 and my conversation with #
84, the White and Blue, Rams receiving great Jack Snow.
